This genus of Camponotus maculatus subnodus are found in such as places like Thailand and other Asian countries.
Camponotus maculatus are known as a species of sugar ant, they have a desire for the sweeter things in life. They are quiet an active and aggressive species so will be interesting for observation, they can be found in range of habitats in the wild and they are well adapted to various habitats such as rocks, various soil type and forest like areas as well as open grassland.
There high polymorphism allows some interesting colour and size variants of workers.
